You’re Invited to the Second Annual Wenatchee Valley Firewise Day

Help Keep Your Property Safe From Wild Fires This Summer

BELLEVUE, Wash. — AAA Washington and Firewise are joining forces for the second annual Firewise Day, a free, family-focused event, open to the public. The event will be held at the Pybus Public Market from 9 am to 2 pm, Feb. 25 and highlights fire prevention tactics and education in an interactive format.

“The start of a new year is a great time to start planning home improvements, and, as recent years have shown, some of the most valuable projects are those that protect our homes from wildfires,” said AAA Washington spokesperson, Jennifer Cook.

Thanks to the overwhelming support for last year’s event, we are expanding this year to include live presentations in the event room at Pybus Market:

  • 10:00 am:  Firewise Plants & Landscaping, Chelan Douglas Master Gardeners
  • 11:00 am: Evacuation Levels 1-3: What they really mean, Chelan County Emergency Management
  • 12:00 pm: Firewise Success Stories & How to Setup a Firewise Adapted Community, Cascadia Conservation District
  • 1:00 pm: Meeting your Insurance Expectations, AAA Insurance Agency

The Cascadia Conservation District will be providing free signups for individuals to receive grant funded home assessments. The organization uses a home ignition zone structure assessment guide, which is produced by the National Fire Protection Association. Firewise Day will be held at the Pybus Public Market, located two blocks east of historic downtown Wenatchee at the convergence of the Apple Capital Loop Trail.
