AAA School Safety Patrol

Welcome to the 2019/2020 School Year, Advisors!

Whether you're just starting a AAA School Safety Patrol career or you've been running a program for years, AAA appreciates the commitment you've made to traffic safety, your patrollers and the school community. Most, if not all of the resources you need to run a successful squad can be accessed right here.

Training

The Operations Manual leads you through the necessary steps to form, organize, operate and support your School Safety Patrol. It includes important safety concepts for students and downloadable forms.

You can watch the training video, "At Your Post", to familiarize yourself with day-to-day operations of the patrol and show it to your students to better understand their duties.

AAA offers advisors an online training experience. Head to the Training Videos page to watch and review each module any time you like.

Materials

The Supplies & Materials page is where you will go to shop AAA’s online School Safety Patrol Catalog; place an order with AAA Washington; visit Alpine Products, which sells official flags and vests.

Resources

You can visit either the Supplies & Materials page or the AAA School Safety Patrol Contacts page to learn about funding for your School Safety Patrol. The Washington Traffic Safety Commission is currently accepting applications for $300 safety patrol grants; available to schools every other year. Click here to find application instructions and more information.

Recognition

Please keep an eye out for the AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame nomination packet near the start of 2020. This is your chance to honor your squad’s outstanding patroller. Students selected to the Hall of Fame are recognized before friends, family and fans at a Seattle Mariners game. All nominees receive recognition for their hard work in their patrol. Be sure to nominate your top patroller.
