Following 18 months of uncertainty and change, AAA is excited to once again support your AAA School Safety Patrol program for the 2021/2022 school year.

Whether you are just beginning your AAA School Safety Patrol career or you have been running a program for years, AAA appreciates your commitment to traffic safety, your patrollers and the contributions they make to your school community. This website provides all the resources you need to run a successful program.

Day-to-Day

The Operations Manual leads you through the necessary steps to form, organize, operate and support your AAA School Safety Patrol. It includes important safety concepts for students and downloadable forms.

Training

  • You and your patrol members can watch the training video, At Your Post together familiarize yourselves with day-to-day operations of the patrol duties.
  • AAA also offers an online training experience for advisors. Head to the Training Videos page to watch and review the five modules any time you like.

Supplies & Materials

The Supplies & Materials page is where you will likely spend the most time. Visit it to set up your school’s business account so you can shop for most patrol supplies and materials through our online shopping cart; visit Alpine Products, to purchase your patrol’s state approved flags and vests.

Funding

The Supplies & Materials page also connects you to the Washington Traffic Safety Commission’s (WTSC) School Zone Crossing Guard Grants program. The state agency is currently accepting applications to help you pay for specific AAA School Safety Patrol expenses. Until the funds run out, every school with an already-operating patrol can apply for a $300 grant each academic year. A one-time $500 grant is available for schools launching a brand new squad. Just click that “Learn More” button in our School-Zone Safety Grants section.

Hall of Fame

Please keep an eye out for the AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame nomination packet near the start of 2022. This is your chance to honor your squad’s outstanding patroller. The ten students selected to the Hall of Fame receive special recognition for their dedication to traffic safety and squad leadership. AAA recognizes all nominees for their hard work while on patrol, so be sure to participate and nominate your top student.
