AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame

Advisors: Would you like to recognize a student for their outstanding work on your School Safety Patrol? AAA is now accepting nominations for Washington State’s best patrollers. All nominees are recognized; with the top 10 named into the AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

Each year, AAA Washington inducts 10 outstanding School Safety Patrollers from around Washington State into its Hall of Fame. A panel of judges evaluates the patrollers for their commitment to traffic safety, citizenship, leadership skills, and contributions to their AAA School Safety Patrol Program. This year, AAA Washington will hold a virtual recognition ceremony for these inductees and all nominated patrollers.

How it Works

School Safety Patrol Advisors may nominate one current-year patroller (per school) who must:

  • Be enrolled in the highest participating grade level of their school’s Safety Patrol Program.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities, commitment to traffic safety, school involvement and citizenship/volunteerism.
  • Value the patrol experience.

To nominate a student, AAA School Safety Patrol Advisors must choose a patroller who goes above and beyond the call of duty for their school and classmates and submit the following materials.

Instructions:

  • Choose one patroller per school to nominate; they must be in their last year of eligible service. 
  • Advisor: Complete the three advisor essay questions 
  • Patroller: Complete the patroller form with four essay questions in their own handwriting, pressing hard enough to be legible when photocopied. The student may use additional paper to answer the questions.

AAA School Safety Patrol Advisor of the Year

Nominate an advisor for School Safety Patrol Advisor of the Year to recognize and celebrate an outstanding advisor who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and contribution to the program. Acknowledge those who go above and beyond in ensuring the success and safety of school patrols.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Principals, members of law enforcement, parents, colleagues and advisors themselves may nominate an advisor.
  • Nominated advisors should be the school’s current Safety Patrol Advisor.
  • Perform duties in compliance with AAA’s Patrol policies and standards.

Instructions: 

  • Fill out the Advisor of the Year Nomination Form
  • Complete three nomination essay questions.

AAA created the School Safety Patrol 105 years ago and partners with local agencies to bring the program to elementary schools across Washington. AAA Washington has been inducting outstanding patrollers into the local Hall of Fame for 33 years.
