who we are
AAA Washington is a not-for-profit service organization that’s all about helping PNW folks travel confidently through life. We may be best known for our legendary roadside assistance but we’re so much more. Think about it: you don’t get just one A – you get three! That means we go above and beyond in all that we do for our 1.2+ million members: yes, towing, but also travel, insurance, Perks, financial services and beyond! We’re also part of this community, dedicated to making an impact in mobility, EV adoption, charitable giving, road safety legislation and many other efforts. We serve the entire state of Washington and northern Idaho, as one regional “club” of the larger AAA National organization.
Our history
AAA Washington was established in 1904 by 10 prominent Seattleites determined to champion the betterment of motoring conditions and laws, preserving Washington state’s natural beauty and promoting Washington as an unrivaled tourist destination. Here are some of the most important dates from our 120+ year history.
This timeline shows how AAA has helped lead the way in all facets of automotive history and is poised to continue paving the road ahead.
